Everything you wrote makes perfect sense (as always). But I'll believe the "100" Republicans when I see it. I'm expecting maybe an additional couple of defectors. Maybe even one of the originals to change their vote when it comes before the full House. We'll see. I've been operating under the theory that Trump will never pay for his crimes, which includes murder. Even convicted it hasn't mattered. So, again, I'll believe it when I see it.

There will be more Republicans voting for the release of the Epstein files than signed on to the discharge petition. Publicly voting against releasing the files to expose who was involved with a notorious sex trafficker is not a position many politicians want to take. Will it be as high as 100? We will find out on Tuesday.

I doubt Trump will ever be held accountable for his crimes either, but the Republican Party will, at least in the short term, in terms of losing elections and power. And that opens the door for legislation that improves the lives of everyday Americans, but only if we vote for a change of leadership in both parties.
